The Whales
The Southern Right Whales come to Hermanus from June each year to mate and calve in the bay.
The whales are seen from close as a few meters from the rocky cliffs during Whale Season.
Hermanus deserves its title as the Best Land-Based WhaleWatching spot in the World!
The Cliff Paths
The Cliff Paths not only affords superb land-based whale watching it is also a nature lover's paradise.
The Cliff Path meanders for almost 11 km along the rugged and beautiful coastline from the New Harbour to the estuary at the mouth of the Klein River.
It is wedged between the Kleinriviersberg Mountain range in the north and the broad expanse of Walker Bay to the south.
The Cliff Paths are Wheelchair and pushchair-friendly.
